NOTE: We are not advocating mass travel during this time, but we do want to continue to support the incredible businesses and destinations that make North Carolina so amazing. In the meantime, we encourage you to virtually travel through our articles and plan your visits for when it is safe to do get out there. Finally, while we do work hard to keep our posts updated, some activities and places may not be accessible at this time.

“Funny backstory to this guest submission. Early in the morning on my last day in Cleveland County, I tried to truck it up Crowder’s Mountain to sunrise (pro tip- don’t. The sun doesn’t rise on that side!) But while at the top trying to catch my breath I met this incredible woman who was giving everyone she saw words of encouragement. She was so easy to talk to and just a person who was infectious.”

Melissa lives in Kingstown and runs an animal rescue called Marino Tails. If you are looking for an animal who has been given more love than you could imagine to be your fur-ever friend, check out her Facebook Page!
