We at NC Tripping love sharing roundups of local events in North Carolina each month. Our readers and followers enjoy adding many of these events to their lists of things to do throughout the year.

Before scrolling to the bottom and sending us your local events submissions, please carefully read the entirety of this page. Failing to do so may lead you to overlook a crucial detail that will help you earn your placement on our site.

NC Local Events Submissions

All events are welcome, though we do exercise editorial oversight over submissions. If we deem an event to not fit our standards, we will not proceed with inclusion in our Events Calendar.

For example, We are most likely to include the following events in our calendar:

• Free events.
• Historically or culturally important. (Ex. Merlefest in Wilkesboro)
• Non-profit-supported events. (Ex. Chow Chow in Asheville)
• Events that support our state’s agriculture, small businesses, charitable causes, etc.
• Events that seek to include all people.

We are less inclined to include the following events:

• Non-inclusive/political/religious events.
  • However, we are willing to promote Church events, provided the Church in question welcomes and affirms all groups who wish to attend.
• Events that our sole discretion determines would not benefit our readers and prospective travelers to North Carolina.
• Events that are submitted more than once. Please don’t follow up multiple times. We will respond to you.
• Events submitted at the last minute. (See “Additional Terms” below)

Note: Please be as specific as possible in your email, so we can better understand your request or comment. We will be less likely to respond if you don’t include as much detail as possible in your email.

Additional Note on Errors: Occasionally, our form rejects submissions and we are trying to determine why. If you encounter an error when submitting, we apologize and request you send your event information to carl@nctripping.com. Thank you!

Paid Event Submissions (Payment Terms and Terms of Placement)

Our Events Calendar includes a Featured section.

To have your event appear here, we charge an insertion fee, payable in advance after submission, to cover our time and marketing costs.

To ensure your event is added to our events calendar in a timely fashion, please be prepared to pay after submitting and respond to any follow-up questions.

Our pricing is as follows:

• Single Event Deposit: $50 per listing for one (1) day
• Recurring Days of the Same Event: $10/additional day
• Article Featured Listing Placement: $500 for a 12-month placement
• Email Newsletter Featured Listing: $500 for one placement
• Social Media Promotion (Contact Us for Details)
• Dedicated Email Newsletter (Contact Us for Details)

Note: NC Tripping will not post content until payment is received.

Additional terms include the following:

• Rates may increase over time.
• We strive to provide events that will interest readers and travelers to North Carolina while providing an inclusive and nondiscriminatory environment. Our sole discretion will determine this.
• Submissions must be received by the 25th of the event’s preceding month (ex. no later than August 25 for September events).
• NC Tripping reserves the right to deny any guaranteed listing for any reason and at our sole discretion. Your deposit will be refunded after denial.
• Please confirm that you have submitted all the required information to ensure your submission is received.
• After submitting your event, you can pay for the first or only day it occurs. If there are additional days to pay for, we will be in touch via email with further payment details.

Services Provided for Paid Event Submissions

When you submit an event to our NC events calendar, you’ll receive the following services from NC Tripping:

• Placement on our Events Calendar after approval.
• A direct link to your event from the NC Tripping Website.
• Possible inclusion in additional articles, as we deem fit for readers. Editorial inclusion is completely controlled by NC Tripping. For guaranteed placement in articles, we offer featured listings at an additional cost ($500 for a 12-month placement; rates subject to change).
• We also share our Events Calendar on Social Media and our Email Newsletter, which reaches thousands of people each week.
• Our Media Kit details NC Tripping’s reach on all platforms.

More NC Event Advertising Opportunities + Examples

We currently offer the following paid advertising opportunities on our website and our email newsletter:

• Monthly Roundup Article Guaranteed Placement: Events are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for our monthly roundups of events. These articles receive thousands of views each month. At the end of your event description, your event will be marked as “(Sponsored)” to comply with FTC regulations. Events will receive placement in the top two spots on the list to ensure the first and most possible attention. (Ex. The first ad received will be listed on top, and the second ad received will be listed second.)

• Email Newsletter Featured Partner: Our weekly email newsletter will feature your event after the introduction of the main topic. (Previous Example)

• Social Media Promotion: We’d love to share your local event on our social media pages. Opportunities include product giveaways, videos, photos, and more!
