Central North Carolina Map Defined

Central North Carolina is definitely the busiest part of our state! That’s largely thanks to the megacity of Charlotte, the Research Triangle’s Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and the Piedmont Triad’s Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

Along with those bustling central North Carolina cities, the area also holds some of our most beautiful state parks, federal and privately owned outdoor spaces, and small towns.

While there are multiple definitions of “What makes up Central North Carolina,” we’ve defined its western edges from north to south as follows:
