Kefi Vineyards and Winery is probably the most unique winery near Charlotte. The estate-grown vineyard is the only one of its kind in North Carolina, harvesting Greek and Italian grape varietals.
Youโll find a variety of grapes and blends, including Assyrtiko- a Santorini grape known for its dynamic, rich tannin-forward flavor.
Many wine drinkers are familiar with European grapes, but Kefi Vineyards is a place to expand your palate and dive into delicious Mediterranean wines.

Rocky River Vineyards

Daveste Vineyards

This Lake Norman-area winery near Charlotte is perfect for a day trip. As a boutique producer, Daveste only makes limited batches of its Vitis vinifera varieties.
The signature wine is made from Rkatsiteli, one of the world’s oldest known grape varieties and the first in North Carolina. The Georgian grape produces a dry, crisp white wine with green apple, quince, and white peach flavors.
The newly opened Davaste Kitchen offers chef-prepared foods, locally made provisions, and snacks.

Baker Buffalo Creek Vineyard & Winery

Baker Buffalo Creek is is one of our favorite vineyards near Charlotte, located in the fertile soil of Cleveland County. Its name comes from the Buffalo Creek that winds its way through the property and also, the Baker family, who have owned the land for over 100 years.
The vineyard supplies 8 different grape varieties: red muscadine, chardonnay, scuppernong, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, Riesling, and traminette.
Baker Buffalo Creek also offers their own blends, one of which is CD Baker, a bourbon barrel-aged cabernet sauvignon with a hint of bourbon flavor.

Childress Vineyards

Childress Vineyards is one of the most recognizable names in North Carolina wine. As one of the largest wineries near Charlotte NC, NASCAR legend Richard Childress built a place for everyone to enjoy the land’s stunning views and pressed grapes.

One of our personal favorite vineyards near Charlotte is Curran Alexander. Curran Alexander is intimate and a true icon among NC wineries.

Dynamis Estate Wines

Raffaldini Vineyards

When you arrive at Raffaldini, you may think you forgot your passport. The Italian-style tasting room looks as if it fell straight out of Tuscany.
The adult-only property is stunning and has the best Montepulciano in North Carolina.
Raffaldini also hosts The Fest Italian each September, bringing Italian food vendors, artists, and entertainment from across the US.

Elkin Creek Vineyard

Elkin Creek Vineyard is a true destination winery near Charlotte. Established in 2001, Elkin Creek Vineyard was built from an old mill to a thriving viticulture experience.
The outdoor vibe is perfect for relaxing with a glass of Soft White while the kids play in the creek. Another thing we love about Elkin Creek Vineyard beyond the ambiance is the wood-fired pizza served on Sundays.

Piccione Vineyards

Piccione is next to Raffaldini and is an excellent option for oenophiles who also have well-behaved kids and dogs. With the same beautiful views of rolling hills of vines, Piccione hosts various events and food trucks.
They are building a new tasting room, and we canโt wait to sip a glass of their Vino Di Lusso!

Grassy Creek Vineyards

From full-bodied reds to delicate whites, Grassy Creek Vineyard is a winery near Charlotte that we love! The tasting room and grounds are family-friendly, and there is even a trail from Grassy Creek to Carter Falls, which is extremely popular!
If you want to make it more than a day trip from Charlotte, Grassy Creek also has cabins for rent.

Round Peak Vineyards

Silver Fork Winery

Jones von Drehle Vineyards

Jones von Drehle is close to Stone Mountain State Park, so we often frequent this winery after hikes! We love this winery near Charlotte so much that we became wine club members!
Using estate-grown grapes only, Jones von Drehle offers dry, European wines poured with love.
We always walk away with a bottle of their Steal and Stone and Rock and Rail blends.

JOLO Winery & Vineyards

JOLO Winery & Vineyards has been producing superior wines since 2013. This is one of North Carolinaโs most acclaimed vineyards with some of the most highly rated wines on the East Coast.
Stainless steel is used to ferment their whites and rosรฉ, while a combination of American, French, and sometimes Hungarian oaks are reserved for the reds.
The Pilot Fog wine, made of Cynthiana grapes, is barrel-aged exclusively in 100 percent new American Oak.

Pilot Mountain Vineyards and Winery

We might be biased but Pilot Mountain Vineyards has the best view among these wineries near Charlotte. Staring out of the tasting room windows is a perfectly framed view of the iconic Pilot Mountain.
The vineyard consists of 31 acres of family-owned land and a stunning estate house available for rent. Bring a picnic and enjoy live music on Sundays!

Divine Llama Vineyards

Divine Llama Vineyards is definitely for you if you are looking for a unique winery near Charlotte! With more than 70 curious llamas roaming around, itโs certainly #instaworthy!
On the weekends, Divine Llama has food trucks, and the property is very family-friendly. Note that there is a $10 farm visit charge for anyone from ages 4 to 20.

Burntshirt Vineyards

Burntshirt Vineyards is a family-owned business with two locations, starting with the flagship vineyard in Hendersonville. A second location in Chimney Rock sits across from the Rocky Broad River and is near the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park.
Wine offerings at Burntshirt include Sweet and Dry Riesling, Malbec, Gruner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and their own special blends, and more. Sample delicious wine pairings from the Burntshirt Vineyards food truck, which is open from spring through fall.
Burntshirt is also dog friendly, so bring your furry friends to enjoy a day out on the property.

Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards

Saint Paul Mountain Farms is home to Saint Paul Vineyard, not far from Burntshirt Vineyards. Saint Paul’s tasting room was established in 2008 on land that has been in the family for centuries.
Saint Paul Vineyards specializes in French Vinifera and offers almost 30 wines that are locally grown, processed, and served in their three tasting rooms. Some of the wines include Cabernet Franc, Dry Riesling, Vidal Blanc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and blends of their own, such as their red Jasper wine.
