Christmas in NC Kersey Valley

Kersey Valley Attractions is situated on land that straddles the Guilford and Randolph county lines. Archdale is also a part of Randolph County, home to Asheboro and Seagrove.

Kersey Valley is situated next to I-74 and I-85, so it’s easy to reach the park from all directions.

For example, Archdale and Kersey Valley are just a 20-minute drive from Greensboro to the north and Asheboro to the south, located conveniently near a major city center but still nestled within a natural environment.

Zip-Lining

Zip-lining at Kersey Valley mimics a flight program for a uniquely thrilling adventure.

Each zip-line tour starts with a brief course at the “Flight School” and covers the basics of zip-lining and safety techniques. After that, participants can engage in the exhilarating ride above the maize field.

Kersey Valley offers two different zip-lining packages: the First Class tour and Coach Class, again imitating a traditional aviation experience.

The First Class tour is $79 and features 14 zip lines from 17 sky towers named after major airports. First Class participants can travel from ATL onto international routes to the ZRH (Zurich) and FRA (Frankfurt) towers.

Coach Class tours, priced at $69, embark on a 10-line flight from ATL to GSO, LAX, DFW, and many other airport-named towers. Zip-lining at Kersey Valley is a unique experience that feels like a thrilling adventure traveling cross-country!

Laser Tag

Kersey Valley prides itself on offering laser tag that is “not the game your mom and dad played in the 1980s.” The park’s laser tag is hosted in the forest and features high-end equipment and structures.

Up to forty people can play at once in the large outdoor arena. Kersey Valley’s laser tag offers several unique features, including:

  • Vibration feedback for when players get tagged.
  • Sophisticated scoring software is shown on a 60-inch TV.
  • A surround-sound course with massive logs.
  • Sandbag bunkers.
  • So much more.

Laser tag at Kersey Valley is $32 for two hours and has special birthday party deals. Be sure to arrive 45 minutes before your booked time so you can get fitted for equipment and familiarize yourself with the game.

Escape Rooms

Some of the state’s best-themed escape rooms are found at Kersey Valley, including escape rooms reflecting a classic who-done-it, haunted sanitarium, a nuclear reactor threatening a meltdown, and a rift in the multi-verse.

The four escape rooms at Kersey Valley are some of the most advanced, with layers of stories to unravel. There are three difficulty levels, and participants have 60 minutes to make it out of the game intact!

Axe Throwing

One of the more unique things to do at Kersey Valley Attractions is axe throwing. Participants over 12 can compete for 1.5 hours in an indoor range or for 2 hours outdoors.

Like everything else at Kersey Valley, axe throwing is an experience complete with a safety session and themed targets.

Maize Adventure at Kersey Valley

Kersey Valley’s Maize Adventure is an all-encompassing 92-acre cornfield and farm on the park’s grounds. It’s one of the more popular things to do in Kersey Valley, especially in the fall with family.

There are many activities just in the maize field part of the park. Navigate the corn maze by foot or take an express train ride through the maze.

Kids (including ours) love the cow train, where they ride cow sculptures around the field, the wagon ride, and the gem dig.

We recommend visiting in the fall, as the trees turn the farm into a kaleidoscope of reds and oranges, and the pumpkins ripen for you to pick.

Spookywoods

Kersey Valley also makes the list of the most exciting and chilling haunted attractions in North Carolina with Spookywoods.

The farm transforms into a sprawling scare, with 15 haunted buildings to investigate, a cornfield laser maze, a dark tram ride through the wicked woods, and the Icons of Horror walking trail.

Spookywoods general admission tickets are $25 to $45 depending on the day of the week and include admission to all haunted attractions with an estimated hour-plus wait across all the attractions.

VIP and Immediate Access tickets promise faster access to the attractions.

As Halloween approaches, Spookywoods becomes a more enticing experience for those looking for a genuine scare. With rotating characters and haunted lore, Kersey Valley is an excellent destination in the spooky season.

Christmas at Kersey Valley

Finally, Kersey Valley turns into a winter wonderland for the holiday season. Kersey Valley Christmas promises family fun in a jovial setting, with over a million LED lights and custom-made sets transforming the park into a holiday special.

General admission to the Christmas Experience offers admission to the lights display, train rides through the Wild West Christmas, reindeer stalls, s’mores pits, and all other activities usually found at Kersey Valley.

For an extra cost, the family can receive a private audience and take photos with Santa and the Grinch. The Christmas spirit truly comes alive here in the snowy and lighthearted atmosphere.

The Apple Cider Donut Shop is a favorite in the fall season; grab a “Deadly Dozen” for the family to share and watch them make it before your eyes.

Snow Drifts is a newer addition to Kersey Valley Attractions, selling shaved ice to visitors. Snow Drifts has ten of the most popular and vibrant flavors for your shaved ice, including Blue Raspberry, Orange, Green Apple, and more.

For other snack options, visit the Fudge Shop, the Funnel Cake Shop, and the Snack Shack for homemade chocolate treats.

First, check out the John Coltrane Statue at S Hamilton St & Commerce Ave. It honors the home-grown legend who learned saxophone while living in High Point as a child.

High Point City Lake Park is another excellent spot to walk around, grab a paddleboat, and go for a train ride. Of course, you must find the World’s Largest Chest of Drawers, a great introduction to the “Furniture Capital of the World.”

Greensboro

There are also several outdoor options in Greensboro, including the Greensboro Arboretum and the 7.5-mile Atlantic and Yadkin Greenway.

Asheboro is a charming town in the heart of the state, famously known as the home of the North Carolina Zoo. The NC Zoo is the largest natural habitat zoo in the world, spanning over 2,600 acres and featuring a variety of animals from around the globe.

Aside from the zoo, Asheboro offers a range of other attractions, including the North Carolina Aviation Museum, which showcases the state’s aviation history.

Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem is a half-hour drive in the other direction from Kersey Valley. It’s the fourth-largest metropolitan area and is filled with an equally amazing amount of things to do. Old Salem is one of the most well-known things to do here, providing a glimpse into 18th-century settler life.

The gorgeous Reynolda House is also here and open for tours. Winston-Salem has a thriving arts scene; you can learn more in the Downtown Arts District.

Winston-Salem has some great restaurants and breweries scattered throughout the city. Our favorites are always changing!

If you need a place to stay, Winston-Salem is full of historic hotels, including the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel, the massive Graylyn Estate, and the Brookstown Inn.

Seagrove
