Historic Building

Horton Hotel in Boone NC

H.W. Horton founded the hotel building in the 1920s and is the hotelโ€™s namesake. Before becoming a hotel, the building was a Studebaker dealership and then a Spainhourโ€™s department store and apartment building.

In 2019, the Horton Hotel opened to the public, and it’s been a Boone fixture ever since. The original owners were Fulton and Denise Lovin, who founded the White Fence Farm wedding and event venue.

SPA Properties, an Appalachian State University alum-led company, bought the Horton Hotel in 2023.
